Part VII: Cemeteries in the town of Jerusalem

Keturah Barnes Cemetery: Notes

Keturah Barnes cemetery

Only a single gravestone remains in this family plot, though it seems likely there were once more. Jerusalem retains more of these tiny plots than any other town in the county, but like whatever other stones may once have existed here, they are gone.

The plot lies at the top of a knoll behind a vineyard and an open field, on private property. Keturah Barnes? third husband Julius is said by some to have been buried here, but the compilers believe he went west sometime after 1835, probably to Wisconsin with their son Samuel.
