Delos E. Sill, former editor of the Cattaraugus Freeman, died a few days ago at Ellicottville, at the age of 58 years….

Joel B. Pratt, father of Dr. George W. Pratt, editor of the Corning Journal, died recently in that village. He was a native of Colchester, Connecticut, and from 1819 to 1834 was a resident of Yates County. He united with the Presbyterian church in Dresden in 1831….

Dr. Levi Perry of this village died yesterday afternoon.

    Feb. 10, 1869, at St. John’s Bridgewater, Somersetshire county, England, by Right Rev. John C. Collins, Mr. Wm. Clatworthy of Penn Yan and Miss Jane Humphreys, eldest daughter of the late Henry Humphreys of the former place.

Mrs. Mehitable Longwell, wife of David Longwell, of this town, died Feb 22, 1868, in the 84th year of her age….

    March 19, 1869, at the home of the bride’s brother, S.N. Davis Esq., by Rev. A.C. Mallory, Mr. William J. Rector and Eleanor Davis, all of Benton.


    In Middlesex, March 3d, of congestion of the lungs, Pharcellus, eldest son of Joshua Jones, aged 21 years and five months.

    In Wayne, on the 14th inst., Andrew Houck, aged about 28 years.

Died in this village on Thursday, March 11th, Mrs. Sarah Hammond, wife of Dr. F.M. Hammond, aged 52 years.

We regret to hear that Henry W. Harris, Esq., of Jerusalem, died yesterday morning after a brief illness….

Died in Potter, Sunday evening, March 14th, of quick consumption, Herbert Bordwell, oldest son of Jareb D. Bordwell, Esq., aged 27 years. The father brought his son home from Michigan a few days ago….

The death of [Rev. Lambert S. Fine] occurred at Troy, Pa., on the 5th instant, resulting from lung fever. He was a son of Judge Fine, an eminent citizen of Ogdensburg,… He died at the early age of 37.

    On the 11th inst., at the Baptist Parsonage in Weston, NY, by Elder P. Olney, Mr. Philo Rogers of Dundee to Miss Frances Ward, only daughter of Mr. Abel Ward of Starkey.

    In Penn Yan, March 16th, by Rev. N. Judson Clark, Mr. Castner Goundry of Milo and Miss Nellie A. Douglass.

Died at Evansville, Ind., at the 17th inst., of typhoid fever and dropsy, Edward Morris, aged 42 years. Mr. Morris was formerly a resident of Yates County—a brother of Ford Morris, Esq., and son-in-law of Deacon George W. Shannon….

    In Penn Yan, March 25, 1869, by Rev. Thomas Tousey, Mr. John R. Beyea, Jr., to Miss Lucy J. Perry, all of Penn Yan.

    By the same, March 29th at the residence of B.F. Fenner in this village, Mr. John F. Carpenter to Mrs. Ann Jackson, both of Penn Yan.

    In Ingham Co., Michigan, March 13, 1869, David C. Raymond, aged 65 years. He was formerly a resident of Benton, in this county.

    At Avoca, in Steuben Co., March 3, 1869, of consumption, Mr. Belden Raplee, aged 69 years.

B.F. Seward, a second cousin of Gov. Seward, died in Binghamton Friday morning, from the effects of laudanum taken Thursday afternoon. He was 48 years of age….

After a protracted illness Benjamin P. Johnson, Secretary of the State Agricultural Society, died at his residence in this this morning, aged 76…. —Albany Journal

James L. Monier, one of the most prominent citizens of Naples, died on the 3d inst., of apoplexy. He has been for many years a leading business man of that village.

Died, in Erie county, Pa., March 21, 1869, Mrs. Lucinda Foote, relict of the late Deacon Jared Foote of Rushville, aged 97 years and 6 months…. Her father was a Revolutionary soldier, starved to death in a British military prison…. Her memory will long be fragrant among the people of Rushville, with whom she spent the last forty years of her earthly career. She died while on a visit to her daughter, Mrs. Vanauden, of Erie county, Pa.

Peter Y Cutler, once a resident of North Hector, but for many years a prominent lawyer and Democratic politician of New York, was found dead in his room in that a few days ago, and it is supposed poisoned himself.

Died at the residence of her father in Benton, March 28th, 1869, Matilda Gage, daughter of Miles and Martha Brown, aged 33 years, 1 month and 22 days.
