Agreeable to the order of Eliphalet Taylor Surrogate of the County of Ontario We have provided and laid off the following parcels of Land vizt:

A piece or parcel of Land off Lot No. 17 in Township No. 7 in the first range of Towns in the County of Ontario—Beginning at the south east corner of said Lot running thence North on the East line of the Lot to the center of the Creek, thence westerly in the center of the Creek till it strikes the south line of the Lot in the place of Beginning, supposed to contain three acres of land—

Also a piece on the same Lot beginning 67 rods north from the north east corner lands in possession of Aaron Remer on the east line of said Lot running thence south 55 rods and 10 links, thence east 52 rods, thence south 55 rods and 10 links to the place of beginning containing 18 acres of Land—

Also a piece off of the same Lot beginning four Rods West of the north east corner of said Lot, thence south 1 degree West 20 Rods, thence west 1 Degree north 6 rods, thence north 1 Degree east 20 rods, thence east 1 Degree south 6 rods to place of beginning containing three fourths of an acre of Land—

Also off lot 32 in Township No. 7 in the first range of Towns in the County of Ontario a piece beginning at the road at the north west corner of Enoch Sherman running thence East 36 rods, thence south 33 rods 8 Links, thence West 52 rods, thence northerly to the place of beginning, containing nine acres and twenty four Rods of Land—

Also a piece off of said Lot No. 32 beginning at the south east corner of said Lot running thence North to the top of the bank, thence Westerly along the Bank so far that a line running North and South will strike the south line of the Lot thirty five rods from the south east corner, thence south to the south line, thence east to the place of beginning, supposed to contain fifteen acres of land together with a road one rod wide along the bank on the level ground from said piece of land to the road leading from Samuel Lawrences to Peter Coldrens—

Also a piece off of said Lot beginning at a stake at the west end of Samuel Lawrences house running south 76 ½ degrees west 10 rods 14 links, thence north 13 Degrees east 11 Rods 20 links to the window of the house Containing 60 rods of Land together with a piece of ground from the road to the west end of the kitchen two rods wide to occupy as a Door or wood yard on the north end of the house—

Also the south west Bed room and log kitchen and one third part of the garret off of the south end of the house now in possession of Samuel Lawrence adjoining the last described piece of land—

The above described premises is laid off to Rhoda Plimpton widow of John Plimpton Decd.

In the Name of God, Amen—

I Adin Squier of No. nine first range in the Town of Seneca, County of Ontario and State of New York, being weak in Body, but of sound mind, memory and Judgment, do on this Thirtyeth day of September in the year of our Lord One Thousand eight hundred and thirteen, order and direct in forma and manner following this my last Will and Testament—

Imprimus: I will and direct that all my Just Debts together with my funeral expences be paid including the proving of this my Will—

I will and direct that besides one third part of all my real Estate, she my dear wife Thirza shall have of my personal property as followeth, Viz. One three years Bay mare Colt, with a side saddle; four cows; and one fourth part of my Household furniture, and providing she do not see fit to alter her situation, but remain my Widow, in this case she shall possess as her right the whole of my Household furniture, with one half of the House I now live in, and one fourth part of the Barn for and during her natural life—

I give and bequeath unto my four Sons, namely Jacob my oldest, Jesse my second, Whitney my third and Adin my youngest, the whole remaining two third parts of all my real Estate to be divided equally, with this provision that my two oldest sons shall have their proportions upon the farm I now live upon; the two youngest on my other farm –

It is likewise my will and pleasure that out of my personal effects my three Daughters, Viz. Anna my oldest, Catharine my second and Mary my youngest, shall receive Two hundred and fifty Dollars each and providing my personal property prove insufficient to raise these respective sums, then the deficiency shall be made up in equal proportions by the property or estate of my four Sons, as they respectively arrive at the age of Twenty one years.

To my two oldest sons I give besides what has been already mentioned the remaining half of my House with the other remaining three fourths of my barn with all other buildings appertaining—One plough, one Drag, and two Ox Chains are to be reserved for the use of the farm—

It is further my will and pleasure to appoint my brothers Seba and Whitney Joint Executors of this my Will in trust for the intents and purposes above mentioned, and to be performed according to my true intent and meaning.

In witness whereof I the above named Adin Squier have to this my last will and testament in presence of the under written Witnesses set my hand and Seal on the Day and year first above written—

We the subscribers hereof being by an order of the Surrogate of the County of Ontario and State of New York bearing date the sixth day of December 1813, Appointed Admeasurers to set off to Sarah Potter, Widow and relict of Arnold Potter Deceased, her right of Dower in and to the lands, Tenements and appurtenances of the same, whereof the said Arnold died seized in the town of Middlesex, County and State aforesaid—

Now know ye by virtue of the power and authority aforesaid, we have set off to the said Sarah Potter the following parcels of Land, Tenements and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining—

The first of which is in the Homested Farm on which the said Arnold lived at the time of his Death, and begins at a Stake standing a few rods west of the Mill Creek on the east side of the improved land, and runs thence northward along the east part of the improved Land thirty five Chains and eight links, thence west twelve chains, thence south Ten Chains, thence west Ten Chains, thence south twenty five Chains and eight Links, thence east thirteen Chains, thence south one Chain and fifty links thence South Sixty three Degrees east two chain and fifteen links, thence south Six Chains and thirty links, thence east five Chains to the place of beginning, containing fifty seven acres and sixty five hundredths of an acre—Reserving to the Heirs of the said Arnold the east part of the Garden with the privilege of going to and coming from the same—

Also one other piece in said Homested Farm, laying west of the Highway running North and South through said Farm bounded as follows: beginning at a stake eight Chains north of the road leading west from the House thence west fourteen chains and fifty links, thence North twenty nine chains and fifty links, thence east fourteen chains and fifty links, thence south Twenty nine chains and fifty links to the place of beginning containing forty two acres and twenty four hundredths of an acre—

Also another piece beginning at stake four rods east of the east sill of the main Barn and running thence south four rods, thence West fourteen rods to the highway thence north four rods to the centre of the bars in the front of the barn yard thence east fourteen rods through the centre of the Barn floor to the place of beginning, also allowing to the Widow all the room over the barn floor together with the south half of the small barn standing easterly and northerly of the main barn, allowing as well to the Heirs as to the Widow the privilege of going to and coming from the farm as need may require.—

Also one third of the east lot of Farm No. one in the second range, beginning at the northwest corner of said lot and running thence east thirteen chain and thirty three links to a Stake and trees marker, thence south forty two Chains to the town line, thence west along the Town line to the south west corner of the said lot thirteen chains and thirty three links, thence North forty two Chains to the place of beginning, containing Fifty Six acres more or less—

Also one third of the West lot of Farm No. one in the first range beginning at the south west corner of said lot and running thence North forty two Chains, thence east thirteen chains and thirty three links, thence south forty two Chains to the Town line thence west thirteen chains thirty three links along the Town line to the place of beginning, containing fifty six acres more or less—

Also hereby setting off to the said Sarah Potter one equal third of the Grist and saw Mills adjoining to or on the aforesaid lots No. one in the first and second range with one equal third of all the privileges of coming from and going to the same,

Also the garden laying south of the Dwelling House at the Grist Mill with the North lower room of the Dwelling House belonging to the Grist Mill—

Also setting off to the said Widow the North east and south West lower rooms and the lower Room of the kitchen and appendages thereunto belonging together with the south West upper Room and the North lower and upper room of the buttery and Cheese house, also that part of the Cellar known by the name of the little Cellar and the arch together with one equal third of the Halls, Stoops, Door yards &c of the Mansion House &c of the said Arnold Deceased—

Also a part of Lot No. three in the third range, beginning at a Stake standing on the south side of the Highway and running thence East sixteen chains, thence south ten Chains, thence West sixteen chains, thence north ten Chains to the place of beginning, containing Sixteen Acres—

Also a part of Lot No. three in the fourth range beginning at a stake standing West of the road leading to Samuel Wyman’s Saw Mill and runs from thence west Eighteen Chains and twenty five links, thence south four Chains and twenty five links, thence east eighteen Chains and twenty five links to the aforesaid road, thence north along said road four Chains and eighty links to the place of beginning, containing nine acres more or less.—

Agreeable to a Map and plan of the same made and hereunto affixed—

In testimony whereof we have hereunto set our hands and seals this Twentyeth day of December 1813—

The last will and testament of Jedediah Holmes of Jerusalem county of Ontario and State of New York

I Jedediah Holmes considering the uncertainty of this mortal life and being of sound mind and memory (blessed be Almighty God for the Same) do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following (that is to say)

Item 1 my will is that all my just debts together with my funeral charges be paid by my executor hereafter named out of the rents and profits of my farm on the gore.

Item 2 I give and bequeath unto my sister Mary Holmes all the rents and profits and sole management of all my land during her natural life and after her death to my two grand children Thomas and Elizabeth Luther equally to be divided to hold to them the said Thomas and Elizabeth Luther their heirs and assigns for ever and to each one bed and bedding.

Item 3rd I give and bequeath unto my sister Mary Holmes all my stock namely oxen cows horses and sheep together with all my farming utensils.

Item 4th I give unto my grand son Thomas Luther all my wearing apparel.

I hereby appoint John Briggs sole executor of this my last will and testament.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the twenty seventh day of the fourth month in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fourteen
