Part VI: Cemeteries in the town of Potter

Arnold Potter Cemetery: Notes

This family plot is now located in a cow pasture behind the mansion built by Arnold Potter in 1790. Only one stone is still standing undamaged; another is fallen and broken in half. It seems likely other family members were buried here as well.

Arnold Potter himself died in Harrisburg PA in 1810, survived by his wife and children, and by his father. His mother Penelope never came to the New Jerusalem. His father however, after a period of estrangement, was reconciled with the Universal Friend, of whom he had been one of the earliest followers, and certainly the most influential; he died before she did, sometime in the second decade of the 19th century.
