Yates County Cemetery Project
Part V: Cemeteries in the town of Middlesex

Pine Corners Cemetery: Notes

This is the oldest cemetery in the town. It suffered for many years from neglect but is now maintained by the town, rescued by former town historian the late Frederick Harter. It is easily accessible from the highway.

This reading was augmented from the records of the Middlesex Heritage Group, particularly from a very good reading done in 1953 by Mabel Blodgett; Frederick Harter’s 1980 list of veterans, and a list made in 1979 by the members of the Heritage Group were also used. Many stones read by Mabel Blodgett are now missing or illegible, but the cemetery’s present good condition and in fact its very existence are a tribute to the hard work and dedication of the active band of volunteers who succeeded her.
