Whereas Phebe Townsend Widow of Lawrence Townsend late of the town of Milo in said County deceased hath made application to me Ira Selby Surrogate of said County to have her dower set off and assigned her (Viz:) her right of dower to the following described pieces or parcels of Land (Viz)

Lot number forty eight in Township No. eight in the first range of Townships in said County

also one third part of the one equal and undivided half of lot No. sixteen in Township No. Seven in said range

also one third part of twenty acres & a half of the northeast corner of Lot No. sixteen in said Township No. seven together with one third part of all the buildings therein Standing at the time of the decease.

Now therefore all the heirs at law, Guardians of Minor heirs at law of the deceased and all other owners & proprietors concerned therein are hereby Notified to appear before me the said Surrogate at my Office in Canandaigua on the 3rd day of October next to shew cause if any why admeasurers should not be appointed to set off said dower & her dower be set off accordingly.

In testimony whereof the said Surrogate hath hereunto set his hand & seal of office this 25th day of September 1822.

Agreeable to your appointment We the undersigned after being duly sworn as the Law directs have admeasured and set off Seventy nine acres and sixty nine rods from Lot number forty eight in township No. Eight first range in Benton bounded as follows to wit,

beginning at the northeast corner of Lot forty eight running from thence north eighty seven and a half degrees west eighty one rods and eighteen links to a stake thence south two and a half degrees west one hundred and fifty five rods to a stake thence south eighty seven and a half degrees east eighty one rods and eighteen links to the centre of the preemption road thence north two and a half degrees East along the preemption road thirty five rods and six links thence north eighty seven and a half degrees west eight rods thence north two and a half degrees east eight rods thence south eighty seven and a half degrees east along said road one hundred and eleven rods nineteen links to the place of beginning containing seventy eight acres and ninety six rods of Land.

Also a certain piece in said Lot bounded as follows, to wit, beginning thirty rods and ten links from the south east corner of said lot number Forty eight west on the south line running from thence north twenty degrees east twenty five rods thence north eighty seven and a half degrees west one rod thence south twenty degrees west sixteen rods thence north eighty seven and a half degrees west twelve rods to a stake and stones thence south twenty degrees west nine rods to the south line thence along said line south eighty seven and a half degrees east thirteen rods to the place of beginning containing one hundred and thirty three rods of Land as the dower of Phebe Townsend widow of Lawrence Townsend late of Milo deceased—
